Using barcodes in warehouse inventory control saves time and money

PASS Stock provides a perpetual inventory of any type of stock from bulk raw material to serially numbered electrical items. Using barcode scanners and label printers it makes warehouse jobs quick and accurate.

The system includes receiving goods in from suppliers, creating orders for  picking and dispatch to customers and doing stock counts. Everything smoothly integrates to produce reports on how much is in stock, where it is, what has been sold and what is outstanding

Labelling
Locations and products are barcoded with a label printer directly from the stock database and hand held terminals are used to record goods in, dispatches, and internal movements.

Receiving
As goods come in and are put-away they are labelled and then scanned into the put-away locations

Picking
Picking lists  are generated automatically from entry of a warehouse order and produced with barcodes for each item with information on where the stock is to be found. This enables accurate and fast picks.

Dispatch
On despatch the packed products or pallets are scanned with the PDA to generate packing lists and automatically update the stock to provide the perpetual inventory.

Stock counts
The PDA collects the data using product barcodes and entering the counted quantities (or serial numbers) in stock. On transfer of the data to the PC, the PASS Stock database generates stock variance reports highlighting discrepancies to enable recounts of the particular item.
