Mobile testing and result label printing

It is often necessary to fix an adhesive label to a piece of equipment to verify that it has been tested or checked. For example, field engineers testing electrical equipment with a label that time and date on the equipment that has been tested and then add their initials.

Another example would be the routine checking of toilets or other health and safety installations, where an on the spot label with the time, and the name checker can be easily attached following the check.

The advantages of using a portable data terminal are significant and save not only time in recording but errors in transcription with a manual system. Laptops can of course be used but these are unwieldy and subject ot the battery life contraints of the individual laptop. They would probably not be used in the situation illustrated.

The application of a label to show when the item was last tested is very useful in situations like the one shown where there are several similar light fittings being tested and it would be awkward to descend the gantry and print on a mains powered printer.
