S-link for tracking production line data with barcodes.
In a laboratory or production line testing situation for quality control or for specific tests for items such as food or blood, S-link can be used to scan the data and then populate several fields in a database simultaneously. For example the operator identity, time and date, type of test and pass or fail result. Its advantage lies in the simultaneous update of multiple fields from a single barcode scan.
Example: The sample is tested at test station one by operator a. The sample barcode is scanned and the result code scanned and and a sample then passes on to the next station, where a similar procedure is carried out by different operator with a different test. The operator will record the item code and the result of the test, together with time and date and details of each operator. At the second station the number of samples tested is also recorded, incrementing the count by one on every scan. This enables the sample throughput to be recorded using barcode tracking with the data mapped to where you want it.
